Guru Jambheshwar University was officially introduced on November 1, 1995.The purpose of the University was “to facilitate and encourage studies and research in issuing areas of higher education with focusing on new fields of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy origins and management studies and also to attain excellence in these and linked fields”. It is called after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint conservationist of 15th century. But the name was later modified to Guru Jambheshwar university of Science & Technology, since of its inscription to the frontiers of growth and research in Science and Technology.
