The AWDI (American Window and Door Institute) was established in the year of 1988. It offers a resource and training center for the Window and Door Industry.

The American Window and Door Institute Installer Certification Program rely on 5 parts:
Regulated Training and/or Demonstrable Field Experience
Field Testing/Observance of individual Installer’s Skills
Standardized Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions
Required on-going Skill Improvement Seminars
Industry Consensus Accepted Installation Guidelines

The AWDI Certification Program
CERTIFICATION PROCESS:
Refer the AWDI Installation Certification enrollment form accompanied through the non-refundable registration
Fee (The form will contain space for references and experience)
Upon receipt of your application and after checking your references you will accept Conditional Certification pending a necessitated test score and/or area inspection.
After successfully finishing the written test and/or area inspection you will become a Certified AWDI installer.
Membership must be renewed yearly.

Requirements and Procedure:
Each installer must refer an application
Each installer must have trade experience
Each installer will be imparted the AWDI Installation Standards and the Installation Manual for Replacement Windows
Each installer must finish a 120 question written exam
Upon return of the finished exam, those installers who pass will be issued a Certificate designating them (name), as a Certified Installer of (brand) windows, for (dealer name) company.
