CDS 2010
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the CDS (Combined Defence Services) Examination (II) , 2010 on 19/09/2010 for admissions to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy for the courses commencing in July 2011 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the courses (men & women) commencing in October 2011.
Eligibility for CDS 2010
Nationality: An examinee must either be:
A India national, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1/01/1962 with the intention of permanently settling in the country
Qualification
(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy-Degree of a accredited University or equal.
(ii) For Naval Academy: B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of accredited University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Graduates with 1st selection as Army/Navy/Air Force are to refer proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.
Age Limit
For IMA-Unmarried male examinees born not earlier than 2/02/1987 and not later than 1/01/1992 only are qualified.
Admission Procedure
This application form alongwith an Information Brochure holding general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending out the application is obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout India as listed in Appendix-III of Notice against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.
