Central Plantation Crops Research Institute Kasaragod Kerala
The Coconut Research Station was founded in 1916 at year Kasargod, Kerala by the Government of Madras and subsequently it was accepted by the Indian Central Coconut Committee in 1948 and preceded till 1970. Central Plantation Crops Research Institute or CPCRI was founded in 1970 as one of the agricultural research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research or ICAR, by merging Central Coconut Research Station, Kasaragod, Central Coconut Research Station, Kayamkulam too as CentralArecanut Research Station, Vittal and its five substations at Palode and Kannara (Kerala), Hirehalli (Karnataka), Mohitnagar (West Bengal) and Kahikuchi (Assam).
