Civil Service Examination 2010 Notification
Civil Service Examinations is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Every year to select officers for several services including IAS (Indian Administrative Services), IFS (Indian Foreign Services), IPS (Indian Police Services), Indian Revenue Services and other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ central jobs.
Eligibility Criteria:
An examinee should have completed degree an equivalent qualification from a recognized institute or university. Also a candidate should be between 21 and 30 years

Release of Notification: 2011
Last date of submission of application form: February first week, 2011
Date of Examination: May third or last week, 2011
Pattern of Preliminary Examination
Paper 1: General Studies-150 marks
Paper 2: Optional Subject-450 marks
Note: There will be 2 papers consisting of multiple choice questions

I’m pursuing a 4year civil engineering course from pune university (currently studying in 2nd year) & i’m interested in giving UPSC examination in my final year. should i start my preprations from now only & if yes which subjects will be suitable for me & which books i should prefer & how should i approach UPSC.
