The Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology (CIMAT) a sovereign Institution was founded in 1996, by Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust, a long-familiar Charitable Trust in Coimbatore. CIMAT institute is sanctioned by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) and is accredited by UGC under Section 2f & 12b of UGC Act. CIMAT is placed first amongst the B-Schools under Bharathiar University and 2nd Best in Coimbatore. This identification has invested CIMAT to engage the path of excellence with added vigour.

The institute entirely extends post-graduate programmes in Business Administration (MBA) and in Computer Applications (MCA).The Institution has an advanced library with wide reference material extending broad topics.
