Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was launched in 1958. The Department of Defence Research and Development Hyderabad formulates and conducts programmes of scientific research, design and development in the areas of relevance to national security conducting to the evocation of new weapons, platforms and other equipments demanded by the Armed Forces. DRDO has built substantial achievements in its exertions to assemble the demands of the three Services. DRDO has various major projects for the development of missiles, armaments, light combat aircrafts, radars, electronic warfare systems etc are on hand and significant achievements have so soon been made in various such technologies.
