This diploma is for those who want a eligibility in German, either in its own right or as an temporary qualification towards a BA (Honours) Modern Language Studies (B30) degree or any other degree that includes German language courses (the University does not offer single language degrees). It empowers you to learn how to interact efficaciously in German, both in speech and writing. The Diploma in German is constituted of Level 2 and Level 3 courses taken by undergraduate programme.
There are no entry necessities but you require a good knowledge of the subject field, received either from Level 1 study with the OU or from equivalent work at another university. The normal formulation would be the Level 1 course Auftakt: intermediate German (L130). The diploma in German offers you with possibilities to research and develop your cognitive skills, to become an independent learner and to grow other transferable abilities and attributes.
