Diploma in Datametrics is design of the qualification is to provide learners with knowledge and unique skills and applied competence in computing, data analysis and mathematical modeling, more especially in Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations Research and. Students will be given recognition of prior learning for individual modules if they can produce a portfolio of certify that presents that they meet the outcomes and associated assessment criteria specified for that module, or they may be granted blocks of credits towards open or elective modules. The learner can deal with problems of medium complexness in the relevant areas and individual disciplines.
All learning programmes leading to the Diploma will carry a maximum of 84 NQF Level 5 (UNISA first year) credits and a minimum of 36 NQF Level 6 credits, of which all 36 can be at 2nd year level.

Eligibility
Candidates must have passed Mathematics at matriculation level with 40% at Higher Grade, or 50% at Standard Grade, or an equivalent examination in Mathematics, or passed the access examination in Mathematics (module MAT011).
