Diploma Mountain Medicine
The Diploma is supported and underwritten by Medical Expeditions. David Hillebrandt and Peter Barry has, in a few short years, made the Diploma in Mountain Medicine. The energy and ebullience that has been committed in this project has been amply honored by the results.
There are 13 different courses for mountain medicine launched in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. So far the following six institutions have been sanctioned. Courses
Diploma in Mountain Medicine
The courses are divided up into three sections:
Basic course,
Course for trekking/expeditions and
A specialty course for Mountain Emergency Medicine.
The specialty course is planned for the training of emergency physicians and paramedics working in mountain deliver systems.
Eligibility
The candidates should be qualified and registered doctors and to certified, registered and suitably experienced paramedics and nurses. The candidate who is experienced final year medical students can commence the course but have to be fully registered before the award of the diploma.
How to apply
The candidates can apply to our Approval Board the right to use the ISMM/UIAA/ICAR logos and award our Diploma.
