In the year of 1957 the ECGC (Export Credit Guarantee Corporation) of India was founded through the Indian Govt. to strengthen the export progress drive through covering the risk of exporting on credit. The present paid-up capital of the ECGC of India is Rs.800 crores and authorized capital Rs.1000 crores. It located at Mumbai city in Maharashtra state in India. ECGC of India was establishing with the main aim to offer export credit insurance and trade allied services to exporters.

What does ECGC do?
Offers a range of credit risk insurance extends to exporters against loss in export of goods and services
Offers guarantees to banks and financial institutions to enable exporters to obtain better facilities from them
Offers abroad Investment Insurance to Indian companies investing in joint projects overseas in the form of equity or loan
