GIC Re Registered Head Office is located at Churchgate in Mumbai city in Maharashtra state in India. The entire the company was nationalized through the General Insurance Business (Nationalization) Act, 1972 (GIBNA). The Indian Govt., by Nationalization took on the shares of 55 Indian insurance companies and the works of 52 insurers carrying on general insurance business.
