GITAM Institute of Technology (GIT) formerly recognized as College of Engineering was launched in the year 1980 in Visakhapatnam. Various departments in the college created opening up beginnings and significant donations since their origination. Responding to the altering technological scenario, the college began other B.Tech courses in Electronics & Communications Engineering in 1981, Computer Science & Engineering in 1986, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering in 1995, Information Technology in 2000 and Biotechnology in 2002.
