The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), normally accepted as Gokhale Institute, is one of the most previous research and training institutes in Economics in India. The Institute was founded in 1930 by late Shri R R Kale as a centre for research and higher studying in economic. The major research fields of the Institute, formulated over the years by financial assistance from several sources, are: Agricultural Economics, Population Studies, Economic History, Input-output analysis for planning and development etc.
