Graduation at University Of Johannesburg
The University of Johannesburg was founded on 1/01/2005 as the result of a merger between the Technikon Witwatersrand (TWR) and the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU). Graduation ceremonies will take place on 24 May to 2 June. With the exception of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, which provides vocational and professional Programmes only, whole of the faculties provide a mixture of formative degree and vocational certificate and diploma Programmes, although the mix varies substantially across the faculties.
Academic Dress
The gowns and hoods will be hired out at the following rates:
Certificate, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees: R310-00 (a deposit of R200 included)
Honours degrees: R320-00 (a deposit of R200 included)
Doctoral degrees: R710-00 (a deposit of R500 included)
Hoods: R250 (a deposit of R200 included) (No hoods from previous qualifications are available)
Master’s degrees: R330-00 (a deposit of R200 included)
Number of guest tickets
Certificates, diplomas, graduates, Honours and master’s degrees: 3 guest tickets
Doctoral degrees: 5 guest tickets
