The Harvard Extension School provides lots of courses for credit over the Internet. The Internet is utilized to bear course lectures with video, audio, and multimedia. Live lectures are recorded and created available on demand by “streaming video” technology. Students use extra technologies to work on exams and homework assignments and to communicate with the instructor and other students in the class. Distance education courses are available to satisfy a broad range of demands, whether you are taking courses for improvement or you would like to apply the credits for a degree.
The courses provided for distance learning cover a broad array of subjects and concentrations. Students may take courses in environmental sciences, anthropology, archaeology, biological sciences, computer science, English and the classics, just to name a few. Each semester has something new to provide along with some criteria that appear every term. Harvard University does not provide degrees that may be earned solely via distance learning; however, there are a number of programs that allow online credits to count toward a degree.
