The foundation stone of the HSL (Hindustan Shipyard Ltd) was laid on 22/06/1941 through Dr. Rajendra Prasad who later became the 1st President of the country. The shipyard is easily accessible through direct air, sea, rail and road connections from India and overseas. Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is situated in the picturesque port city of Visakhapatnam on the East coast of the country. Today, HSL is a fully owned by Indian Govt. Undertaking under the Administrative control of the Ministry of Shipping, Road and Highways.
