The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology will be a fully residential institute situated in Ponmudi near Thiruvananthapuram. The IIST institute will have continuous power provide drawn from state grid also as its own captive generation. The main aim of the IIST is to offer Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral programmes in space science & Technology, with specialization in Avionics, Aerospace Engineering and Physical Sciences. The institute will have a very close technical and professional contact with ISRO to share the specified infrastructure and expertise, which are requirement for its academic programmes.
