Indian Veterinary Research Institute Bangalore
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute Bangalore was founded in the year of 1972 with the assistance of Denmark Govt. for big scale production of FMD virus vaccine and directs basic and applied research on FMD. It located at Bangalore city in Karnataka state in India. The Institute has been granted International Gold Star honour through Business Initiative Directions (BID), Madrid, (Spain) for the quality of work for the year 1988-89.

The monitoring and surveillance wing of this Campus keeps a constant vigil over the economically important diseases of the southern region. A laboratory animal facility exists on 110 acre plot at Yelahanka, a suburb of Bangalore city where animal housing for vaccine testing, with full containment facility at P-3 level, is under construction.
