In 1980 the KIMS Bangalore (Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences Bangalore) was launched through the Vokkaligara Sangha. The Institute is associated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore and accredited through Medical Council of India (MCI) permanently for functioning MBBS Course since 1980-81.
