The K.L.E. Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belgaum got a Deemed University under the University allows Commission’s Act, on 13th April, 2006.The K.L.E. Academy of Higher Education and Research is an educational institute launch initially by the Karnataka Lingavat Education Society with the target of furnishing top quality education especially in the area of health and medical sciences. The Institute programs to admit within its fold colleges getting specified courses in pharmacy, nursing sciences and physiotherapy. It is the beginning institute in North Karnataka to get a deemed university and has under its fold two colleges i.e. Jawarharlal Nehru Medical College Belgaum and the Institute of Dental Sciences also in Belgaum.
