The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are reputable engineering and technology pointed colleges in India. They were in the first place named Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs). In 2002, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, definite to improve, in phases, all the original 17 Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) as National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Mission of NITS is to contract cooperative projects with world and industries & to formulate human intellectual capacity to its fullest potential.
