Madurai Kamaraj University is a Statutory University, launched in 1966 by Govt. of Tamilnadu. Madurai Kamaraj University established on the historical city of Madurai, the ancient capital of the Pandya rulers and the seat of three famous Tamil academies back to Christianity, and perhaps even before times was the February 6, 1966 name in the heart.
The Directorate of Distance Education of this university was founded in 1971 and has student intensity of about 1.20 lakhs. University provides educational programs through several departments of education and research. MKU conducts various courses in UG & PG programme for aiming candidates who wants to get admission.
