The National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organization’s (NATMO) latest contribution to Kolkata, capital city of the state of West Bengal. NATMO administration is a subordinate office under the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. NATMO has a approved strength of 462 posts as on at present which includes 75 officers and 387 staff members of different categories, viz. scientific, technical and administrative officials of which a big number of highly eligible professional geographers, possibly the largest number under one roof any where in the world. The NATMO organization is as well involved in geographical research and preparation of thematic maps based on these research studies.
