The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) was instituted in November 1993 as an independent society below the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The most important expression of NDBP is the real time dissemination of data particularly throughout extreme weather conditions. NIOT is as well growing a Remote Operable Vehicle climbed with detectors and cameras to research ocean depths at 3,000 metres. NIOT is organization of a comprehensive Tide Gauge & Automatic Weather station networking program along Indian Coast. The NIOT group handles several sponsored, consultancy and international collaborative projects.

I am working with IDMC Limited in Gujarat. We are designing a special equipment called SEPERATOR. It works on the principles of Ekman Layers. I want to understand the concept of Ekman Layers. Can you help us in this regard.
