National Power Training Institute was made as a National vertex Body by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Power in the year 1993 by making and advancing the former Power Engineers Training Society. NPTI furnishes Consultancy Services to Power field administrations in the area of Human Resource Development, Training Need assessment, Recruitment, Preparation of DPRs as per APDRP schemes, setting up of Training Institutes etc.
NPTI and its Regional Institutes are fully outfitted with the most recent advanced training infrastructure and have expert modules with long years of professional and teaching background. The Training Institute at Badarpur and Nagpur are furnished with a Computer based Full-scope Replica Simulator of 210 MW Fossil Fuel Thermal Power Plant to render off-job/hands on training. NPTI corporate Office at Faridabad houses a progressive 500 MW Simulator, 430 MW Combined Cycle Gas Training Simulator and a GIS resource Centre.
