The origins of the ACTREC (Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer) are rooted in the ICRC (Indian Cancer Research Centre). ICRC was renamed the CRI (Cancer Research Institute) and combined with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), making the 1st comprehensive cancer centre in the country. The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) ACTREC is an independent grant-in-help institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Indian Govt. it is located at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra state in India. Tata Memorial Centre ACTREC ran its PhD programme by its association to the University of Mumbai.
