The ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition’ is one of the fundamental initiatives attempted by the Tata group of companies to motivate the youth of India towards thinking about nation building. This essay competition furnishes a specific platform to promote young leaders of future to express themselves, on a host of subjects linked to nation building. Established in 2006, as an English language competition in 6 cities with 1 lakh students from class 6 to 12, the competition has now become India’s biggest essay writing competition. In 2009-10, the competition has attracted over 2 million students in 100 cities around 6 languages. The thought of the competition is very well got by both students and the teaching fraternity reflected by the overwhelming response from participating schools and students. It is the belief of the Tata group of companies that the young brains of the nation if ignited positively can bring greater glory to the nation.
