The Tourism Development Company Limited (TDC) is a state endeavor of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, attributed to arise and market Trinidad and Tobago’s tourism production and develop the local tourism field. Constituted in May 2005, the TDC is the effectuation arm of the Ministry of Tourism, committed to understanding the vision for tourism in Trinidad and Tobago. This vision is led by various long-term goals and the intention is for tourism to lead to Trinidad and Tobago’s attainment of developed nation status by the year 2020.
The TDC Board of Directors is appointed by Cabinet and reports directly to the Minister of Tourism, the Honorable Dr Rupert Griffith. The President and management of the TDC report to the Board of Directors. The TDC is devoted to demonstrating and enforcing standards for the development and maintenance of tourism infrastructure and amenities, as well as criteria for all identified tourist sites and attractions. Where the works of the TDC relate to Tobago, all activities are designed and attained in consultation with the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
