The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur was founded in the year of 1966 below UP State Legislature Act for offering higher education to whole and anyone in general and people of Kanpur in particular. Now university has one hundred seventy colleges related with it. Nearly 2.75 lakh scholars get enrollment every year in various related colleges and university sections and courses in various streams like arts, commerce, sciences, social sciences at various stages, viz, certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree etc.
