Introduction
The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is an institute at Ranchi University which is located in Bariatu about 6 km from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand State of India. The institute supplies free medical service to the patients along with many medicines. The medical college hospital came into being in February 1965. The institute is named after the first president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi sprawls over about 200 acres of land and is placed in Bariatu, about six km from the city of Ranchi. The institute was launched in 1960 and originally named Rajendra Medical College Hospital after Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India.

Selection process
The admission process to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences is stringent. The student’s attempt the entrance exams and a handful of them get selected to pursue the degree of MBBS in RIMS, Ranchi.
