The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), Government of India launches The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Dist. Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh by an Act of Parliament (“Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act 2007″). RGIPT is encouraged as an energy field particular institute by six conducting Oil Public Sector Units (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in affiliation with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). RGIPT has an inspirational plan—to offer a number of Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree programs, PG diploma courses and Doctoral programs in Petroleum Technology and Management in phases.
