Introduction
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal was first founded in the name of Regional Medical College which was later changed to North Eastern Regional Medical College in the year 1976. It was in the year 1995 when the universal body of the medical society of the north eastern states determined to rename the college as the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. The college functions under the aegis of the North Eastern Regional Medical College Society which is verified under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989. Regional Institute of Medical Sciences extends 5.5 years bachelor’s degree courses in MBBS. Admission to this course is made by a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the.
