The conception of the Sainik School originates the fertile mind of Late V K Krishna Menon, who was our Defense Minister in the early 16. He found that a school with rudiments of a armed forces way of life, in each State of country, could go a long way in building up an substructure for in-take into the National Defense Academy. Applications have been provide from boys for admission to Class VI & IX at Sainik School, Kazhakootam, Kerala, for the academic session starting in June 2011.
Eligibility
Class VI – The student should not have been born before 2nd July 1999 and not after 1st July 2000.
Class IX – The school follows the 10 + 2 System of the CBSE (New Delhi) OR the student should not have been born before 2nd July 1996 and not after 1st July 1997 and should be studying in class VIII or IX.
Selection Process
The school Admissions will be made strictly in accordance with the Merit in the entrance exam, interview and subsequent medical fitness of candidates.

75 Seats – Class VI
10 Seats – Class IX
15 % seats are reserved – SC
7.5% seats – ST
25% seats – Defense and ex-Defense Personnel

Application form and old Question Papers can be found of the Principal, Sainik School Kazhakootam, Sainik School Post Offices, Trivandrum 695 585 through hand, payment of Prescribe amount , by direction of Cash or Crossed DD/Postal Order. It can be found by Registered Post by sending a DD/Postal Order for Prescribe amount.
