The First Pharma Industry-Institution Interactive Meet was organized by the CARISM on 28th November 2004 sponsored by the Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Division, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. It was organized to sensitize the Pharma industry in the southern zone on Indian System of Medicine and the importance of research and development and the possible industry-institutional alliances in drugs and pharma sector. The interactive meet was inaugurated by Dr. (Mrs.) Vasantha Muthuswamy, Senior Deputy Director General, ICMR, New Delhi. The key note speakers were Prof. G. P.
