The Shivaji University was established in 1962 and located in Kolhapur. One of the main objectives behind basis of this University was to provide to the regional needs of South Maharashtra. The objectives set behind the University included making chances of higher education accessible to rural youth. University has 34 affiliated colleges.
The University Department of Physics has been lately identified by UGC for special program. The University has maintained the high standards of general government, responsible financial management and a genial rapport with funding agencies.

Eligibility
Candidate should have 3 year bachelor degree from any recognized university with minimum 55 % aggregate marks. For graduation courses candidate have to pass 10+2 with minimum 55% aggregate marks.
Admission process
Candidates have to give the entrance test which is conduct by the university. Have to submit the admission form with the appropriate fees.
