Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a public university near the town of Katra in the Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The Mission of the University is the avocation of the Education, Scholarship and Research at the highest International levels of excellence. The university is a microcosm of the Indian nation, describing students from throughout country. The University seems forward to achieve and hold an international standing in both teaching and research. It launched in 1999 as residential and technical university to provide technological and technical education. The University promotes close coactions with industry and facilitates the application of research for commercial use and for the benefit of society.
