Silchar Medical College and Hospital is one of the prominent medical education institutes in the eastern part of India. It has been 41 years since the establishment of Silchar Medical College & Hospital in Silchar, the college still maintains itself as the sole referral hospital in the southern part of Assam. The college boasts of being the solitary curator of wellbeing of the entire Barak Valley, Silchar. Being located at a planned geographic site, Silichar Medical College and Hospital also provides relief to the underprivileged and deprived part of the society of the state as well as the neighboring states including Mizoram, North Tripura.
