The TATA Institute of Social Sciences A Deemed University was founded in the year of 1936, as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work was named as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year of 1964 was a primary landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was accredited as a Deemed University through the University Grants Commission. TATA Institute of Social Sciences A Deemed University is located at Mumbai in Maharashtra in India.
