The University of Calcutta is a public university situated in the city of Kolkata (previously Calcutta), India, launched on 24 January 1857.It is a state-government administrated urban-based associating and research university. The university has various campuses spread over the city of Kolkata and its suburbias. It is the only university in India which developed 4 Nobelists and which was placed between first five hundred universities in the world.

Eligibility
The candidate must have at least 50% marks (SC and ST candidates should have a minimum of 40%) in Bachelors’ Degree and/or in the Masters’ degree Examination of Calcutta University.
How to apply
Applications from graduate (preferably with Honours and /or Master degree) candidates in a (10+2+3) pattern (except assigned category) in dictated forms procurable from the University Sales counter on payment of Rs.50/- are invited for the B.Ed. Course of the academic session 2010-11. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC and ST Candidates
Age limit:
The candidate must have Upto 35 years for Fresher Candidates and 45 years for Deputed candidates as on 30.6.2010.
