The University of Delhi is the prime university of the nation and is famous for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty. The University of Delhi was founded in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly. In an attempt to cope with this enormous expansion, the University in the early seventies initiated a new organizational pattern based on the multi-campus concept.
Admission
The admission process to University of Delhi (DU) colleges will commence from May 28th, 2010. Sale and receipt of Common Admission forms are from May 28 to June 11, 2010. Like former years, this year too National Network of Education (NNE) attempts to furnish detailed information to the students so that they feel at ease to apply in their preferred colleges and favorite courses.
If you have passed the Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination of Central Board of Secondary teaching (CBSE) or any other 10+2 standard examinations and aspire to take admission in the under graduate and Post Graduate courses of the colleges and faculty departments under Delhi University, you will get all information on admission scenario, academic session, eligibility for the courses, reservation scheme, documents needed for admission and important dates of Delhi University.
DU carries on Open Days where students and parents can clear their doubts, ask questions and get all vital information on DU admission, courses and colleges. The Open Days will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM at the following centres:
Eligibility
In order to take admission under the colleges of DU you are needed to pass the qualifying examinations, that is, the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of CBSE Board or any other examination of its equal standard. If you want to get admitted to the first year of undergraduate courses under the colleges of DU, then you have to get lower limit marks as per the demand of admission process of respective courses.
