The UGC Academic Staff College, Lucknow University was founded in 1988 (in the first phase of the scheme) and Prof. A.K. Srivastava from the Department of English and Modem European Languages, Lucknow University was its founder Full time Director. Dr. B.K.P.N. Singh (Department of Physics) was full time Director 1993 1999.
