Vignan University is a private University placed in the Guntur district Andhra Pradesh, India. It is placed in rural field of Vadlamudi, on the south-eastern component of Guntur City, a major centre of learning in the nation. The institution began as Vignan Engineering College in 1997 and was attached to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad as a part of the Vignan Foundation for Science, Education & Research. It was conferred the position of a Deemed University by the University Grants Commission, Government of India in 2008 and was named Vignan University.
