The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar owes its origin to a Social Contract between the Government of Orissa and the OJS (Orissa Jesuit Society). The Management of the institute is in the hands of a Governing Board, comprising of representatives from the Jesuit Society, Government of India, Government of Orissa and eminent industrialists and educationalists.

Eligibility
The lower limit demand for admission to the Programme is: A three-year Bachelor’s degree (or equal) in any field from an accepted University. Candidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2010, may also apply.
Admission Process
The institute will determine the section wise as well as total cut-off marks, which will be used for short listing individuals to be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. GD & PI will hold at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Individuals will have to meet their own travel expenses for performing in the GD & PI. The final selection will be on the individual achievement in the XAT as well as Group Discussion and Personal Interview (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience). The selected individuals will be informed by mail by around first week of April 2010.
