Youth Work Degree
Generally a Youth Work degree course commonly takes three years full-time study while in Scotland a Youth Work degree course takes four years. The foundation degree is eligible for individuals with recent experience of working with young people in informal education settings such as detached youth work or youth work in clubs, youth organizations like the Guides or Scouts, or other groups working with young people aged 13–19 years old. Youth workers play an active role in working with young people and confronting social problems such as homelessness, substance misuse, social disorder and oppression. The program of study for this Foundation degree is also offered as the Diploma of Higher Education in Working with Young People (E38).
